Welcome to ENGAGE, the online home of dramaturgy and community engagement at Company One Theatre.
What is dramaturgy? At Company One Theatre, our Dramaturgy staff and Street Team members are network-makers, web-builders, captains of context, and the essential connective tissue between artists, company, and community. We are proud to program events both inside and outside the theatre’s walls that supplement the work we do onstage. ENGAGE is a place you can come to see what we’ve been up to, learn about coming opportunities, and keep abreast of the most compelling arts and community issues of the day.

Our In The Intersection blog serves as a launch-pad for discussion about current events relevant to the arts and our community partners, and showcases our behind-the-scenes company culture and activity. We host a range of voices here tied to Company One Theatre’s values of socially conscious thinking and a fostering of the individual as part of the greater community. Watch for posts tagged #StaffChat — those denote articles that the whole Company One Theatre staff is reading and discussing at our staff meetings. Every Friday, you’ll find a #LinkRoundup post, highlighting news from other sources that we recommend.
Our Events page documents our past events inside the theatre and out in the neighborhoods – wherever Company One Theatre is in the world, you can read up on it here.
The Audience Response page lets you see how current and past audiences have interacted with our productions through lobby installations, video interviews, social media, and survey responses.
The Blogs page gives you quick access to all of Company One Theatre’s rehearsal and production blogs, providing a window into our rehearsal processes and dramaturgical context on each play.
The C1 Gala page is a clearinghouse for information about past and upcoming Gala celebrations, including a wide variety of photo albums.
Company One Theatre is a proud member of Literary Managers & Dramaturgs of the Americas. For more information about dramaturgy, check out what our friends at LMDA have to say by clicking HERE.
