Women’s Leadership in Residential Theaters: A Research Project

In this interesting indiegogo.com campaign, the American Conservatory Theater is partnering with the Wellesley Centers for Women to undertake a research project to determine why women have never surpassed 27% of artistic leadership roles in the major American nonprofit theaters.

Recognizing a gap in gender parity and outlining a plan to learn more about the problem is an important mission.  A similar mission can be found in C1’s XX Playlab (kicking off this weekend), which strives to close the gap in the representation of female playwrights.
